Position Summary

The CVS Front Store Strategy & Transformation Team is responsible for the development and execution of the CVS merchandising growth strategy in alignment with the broader enterprise. This team sits at the heart of the Front Store, connecting the dots between cross-functional teams to bring one holistic vision to life. The Senior Manager of Strategy & Transformation will play an instrumental role, responsible for the implementation and ongoing management of multiple highly visible projects. You will own the development of essential processes to ensure cross-functional connectivity, establish accountability, and accomplish organizational goals.

Key responsibilities will include evolution and oversight of the merchandising strategy in partnership with the Strategy & Transformation Executive Director, including prioritization of new initiatives, communication and change management strategies, and regular collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver excellence. Additionally, the Senior Manager will be responsible for contributing to routine working teams, Steer Cos, and initiatives that cross business units to find synergies in how we work and reduce friction for our store teams. The ideal candidate is equally excited about building a best-in-class retail strategy as they are about developing and maintaining the project management tools essential to strategic success.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build processes to ensure cross-functional connectivity and establish clear accountability. Responsibilities include developing prioritized roadmaps, assigning timelines and ownership, and strategically connecting activities to business results.

  • Develop and build strategic business cases and execution plans imperative to achieving organizational goals, ensuring alignment with the strategic vision and goals of the Enterprise

  • Track progress and utilize understanding of business priorities to synthesize and communicate on a regular basis to internal and external stakeholders

  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional peers and senior leaders as required in support of strategy implementation

  • Develop key strategic updates, presentations, and content for senior leadership meetings

  • Conduct analyses to measure impact and inform strategies. Synthesize insights translate them into clear and compelling recommendations for senior leadership and stakeholders

  • Proactively identify gaps and recommend enhancements based on broad needs of the organization

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of internal and external environmental influences and application to in-year and outer-year strategic planning; develop a base understanding of the broader Enterprise to drive strategic recommendations

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years relevant work experience required

  • Proven success in project and program management with organization and time management skills

  • Strong analytical skill set and proven problem solver

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and change to achieve goals despite potential obstacles

  • Deep understanding of the retail business and its components, particularly around merchandising and the evolving macroeconomic and competitive environments

  • Highly collaborative with ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence across all levels

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Business development and/or consulting experience

  • MBA

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$82,940.00 - $182,549.40

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
