Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SCCM Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) infrastructure to support our organization's IT operations. This role requires expertise in SCCM architecture, deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting, as well as a strong understanding of IT infrastructure and security best practices.

Responsibilities:

SCCM Infrastructure Management:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain SCCM infrastructure components, including Central Administration Site (CAS), primary sites, distribution points, management points, software update points, Cloud Management Gateway (CMG), and CMG connection points.

  • Configure and optimize SCCM settings, roles, and features to ensure efficient and reliable software deployment, patch management, and endpoint protection.

  • Embrace and enable change and transformation in technology related to Endpoint Management.

  • Assist in the creation of technical and business justification documentation to support IT direction and decisions.

  • Manage ticketing escalations and associated SLAs.

  • Lead efforts of Endpoint Vulnerability Management program and Security Benchmarking initiative.

  • Manage changes and risks throughout the SCCM infrastructure.

  • Take on architecture/design and administrative duties for Endpoint, MDM, MEM, and VDI systems (Citrix and AVD).

  • Subject matter expertise in the following: SCCM/MECM, Intune or equivalent UEM platforms, GPO/GPP, PowerShell, All Windows Iterations, Azure, AVD, WSUS,

  • Advanced skills in PowerShell scripting. Adept in automation, software deployment/lifecycle, and creative solution development.

  • Continually researches new technologies and collaborates with other IT Managers and Directors in the strategic planning efforts.

  • Strives to define, evaluate, and facilitate the adoption of emergent technologies and process improvement initiatives.

Client Deployment and Configuration:

  • Plan and execute SCCM client deployments across the organization's endpoints, ensuring proper installation, configuration, and compliance with security policies.

  • Develop and maintain client installation packages and task sequences for operating system deployment and application provisioning.

  1. SCCM Architecture Design:
  • Design and architect SCCM infrastructure to meet the organization's requirements for software distribution, patch management, operating system deployment, and inventory management.

  • Develop and maintain SCCM server infrastructure, including Central Administration Site (CAS), primary sites, distribution points, management points, software update points, Cloud Management Gateway (CMG), and CMG connection points.

Reporting and Monitoring:

Create custom reports and dashboards to monitor SCCM infrastructure performance, client health, software deployments, and compliance status.

Implement proactive monitoring and alerting mechanisms to identify and address issues before they impact service delivery.

Integration and Automation:

Integrate SCCM with other IT systems and tools, such as Active Directory, Group Policy, Intune, PowerShell scripting, and third-party solutions such as the 1E Platform to streamline processes and enhance automation.

Develop and maintain scripts and automation workflows to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

Document SCCM infrastructure design, configurations, procedures, and best practices.

Provide training and knowledge sharing sessions to IT staff to ensure effective use of SCCM and adherence to established standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting SCCM infrastructure in enterprise environments.

  • Expertise in SCCM architecture, including task sequences, site hierarchy design, role configuration, boundary groups, and content distribution.

  • Proficiency in creating SQL and WQL queries.

  • Familiarity with SCCM features such as using the App Model, CI Baselines, Task Sequences, OSD, creating virtual apps and creating collections with special script deployments that automatically resolve perpetual issues.

  • In-depth knowledge of SCCM features and functionalities, such as software deployment, patch management, operating system deployment, and reporting.

  • Strong understanding of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, and networking concepts.

  • Advanced knowledge in scripting languages, such as PowerShell, for automation and customization of SCCM workflows.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex SCCM issues.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Advanced knowledge in configuration manager

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related feild or equivalent experience.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$83,430.00 - $201,900.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
