The Test & Learn team, a dynamic team within Retail, is responsible for quantitative analyses that support current and emerging initiatives. The Senior Manager will work collaboratively with all Merchandising business units, suppliers, and various departments to provide detailed presentations and communicate key insights and results. Our focus remains on our customers, and the Test & Learn team will utilize data-driven insights to evolve our product offering and in-store layout, addressing customer pain points and testing innovative new ideas to enhance the customer experience. Key Responsibilities

The Senior Manager will collaborate with stakeholder groups such as Merchandising, Planogram Design, Store Brands, Pricing, Marketing and Store Operations. To ensure clear and actionable strategies to drive measurable improvements to the customer experience across our retail locations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform advanced quantitative analysis: Utilize advanced analytical techniques such as spreadsheet modeling with large datasets, pivot tables, and detailed financial/statistical analysis to perform comprehensive quantitative analyses using test & learn software.

  • Provide strategic insights and analytics: Offer key strategic insights and analytics based on test results to drive business decisions for planogram and/or new item related tests.

  • Forecast and measure sales and profit results: Forecast and measure the sales and profit outcomes of prototype and retail design changes, providing meaningful analysis and insights to guide decision-making.

  • Communicate complex findings effectively: Concisely explain complex analytical findings to non-analytic peers and internal customers through verbal and written formal presentations.

  • Identify opportunities and drive decisions: Proactively identify opportunities for improvement based on data analysis and critical thinking, actively influencing business decisions to maximize performance.

  • Present Category Test results: Collaborate with the Director of Retail Testing & Analysis to interpret, consolidate, and present Category Test results to CM, DMM, and VPMM groups in a timely manner.

  • Make customer-centric decisions: Analyze data to identify best customer-centric decisions and uphold a focus on enhancing the customer experience, driving measurable improvements.

  • Support ad hoc requests: Deliver ad hoc analytic requests as needed to support broader business needs and provide data-driven insights for decision-making.

  • Design PowerPoint presentations: Design visually appealing and informative PowerPoint presentations to effectively communicate test results and recommendations to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years financial analysis experience providing business analytics, to include interpreting sales, profit, and ROI results.

  • 6+ years in a variety of applications: Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Power Point) MS SQL, Oracle (or similar SQL capabilities) and Category Map. Knowledge of APT and Extra Care is a plus.

  • 3+ years of cross-functional leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in conducting and analyzing in-store tests, including A/B testing or other experimental design methodologies.

  • Proficiency in using tools such as APT and other testing platforms to analyze test results and derive actionable insights.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and present key findings in a clear and concise manner.

  • Experience in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Merchandising, Marketing, Pricing, and Store Operations, to develop and execute test plans.

  • Knowledge of retail industry trends and understanding of customer pain points in order to drive effective test strategies.

  • Clear understanding of market and demographic trends and their impact on current and future business results.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively convey messages to senior leaders in a clear, logical manner.

  • Ability to multitask several concurrent requests, quickly assemble data, and generate impactful insights in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques and software for hypothesis testing and data modeling.

  • Ability to think creatively and problem-solve to design innovative test ideas that address customer needs.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Statistics, Marketing, Business or a similar quantitative discipline.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$79,200.00 - $174,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
