CVS Health Digital Product Owner in Woonsocket, Rhode Island

Job Description

The Product Owner (PO) is a member of the Agile Product Team responsible for defining Stories and prioritizing the Team Backlog. This is an instrumental role in driving day to day development for an CVS loyalty program that drives hundreds of millions of dollars of business value by providing our customers with a modern, relevant and personalized digital experience. The PO is responsible for streamlining the execution of team priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the features/ components for the team. The PO has a significant role in quality control and is the only team member empowered to accept stories as done. This PO role will support the Digital Personalization agile product team(s). This role has significant relationships and responsibilities outside the local team, including working with key business partners to prioritize the backlog and to prepare for the Program Increment (PI) Planning meeting where quarterly priorities are set.The PO will be required to have a strong technical background & understanding of digital architecture and platforms. The PO will work closely with a system architects and developers to ensure all technical designs meet the business requirements and are aligned with all industry best practices. The PO should remain up-to-date with emerging technologies to so that CVS can continue to provide the high quality products to all digital customers.Responsibilities:•User Story Development. Provides subject matter expertise – explaining product vision and user stories to the team to ensure requirements are understood and customer value is deliver Iteration Planning including backlog prioritization and feature refinement•Program Increment planning•Cross-functional collaboration to collect information to support feature development and delivery•Work with engineering and architecture teams to define the backend processes and frontend functionality to support the customer experience through digital and omnichannel touchpoints•Leads the team in identifying dependencies and tradeoffs as well as problem solving risks that may appear in the Team Backlog•Works with product management and stakeholders to align on business value, problem statements, and customer pain points that are strategic priorities for CVS Health•Validate the application releases and provide signoffs•Collaborates with the team to produce and present the PI system demo to program stakeholders•Establish clear goals and objectives for the product(s) and develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) that will clearly indicate the progress towards those goals and business outcomesTechnical Responsibilities: • Interpret and provide feedback & suggestions on technical solution design documents• Understand how all of the components in the digital solution stack work together including, but not limited to Database (Oracle, Teradata), API Protocols (REST, SOAP), Cache, Micro Services, Monitoring (Splunk) and ETL applications. • Add efficiencies and automation to all development processes using behavior driven development (BDD)

Required Qualifications

3+ years required experience as Product Owner, Business Analyst, Project Manager, Consulting, IT, or Marketing

Preferred Qualifications

•Previous experience in agile product development •Strong critical thinker who makes balanced, insightful decisions using solutions based thinking in problem solving, asking probing questions and looking for underlying issues•Ability to effectively work on teams within a highly collaborative environment. •Strong negotiation, organizational, management, analytical and people skills•Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization •Ability to maintain working relationships with all levels of the organization.•Broad understanding of core programming and computer science concepts•Experience in retail industry preferred•Familiarity with agile processes, such as scrum, Kanban, and/or the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technology, Finance, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
