The Team

We are seeking a Manager, Application Development to join American Tower’s U.S. Tower division’s Digital Solutions team. The team defines and implements digital transformation strategies to advance the division’s operations. As a Manager, you oversee the development, implementation, and support of new and existing applications. You will work collaboratively with business teams to understand their processes and develop innovative solutions that drive our digital vision and transformation. You may lead in house Software Engineers and partner with vendors to enhance and maintain operational unmanned aircraft systems, digital twin, and supporting applications.

What You Need to Succeed

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.

• Minimum 8 years of industry experience leading complex projects required.

• Minimum of 6 years projects experience in application development, solutions management or deployment experience preferred.

• Previous supervisory or managerial experience preferred.

• Proven success at developing and leveraging new advanced software applications and solutions to drive business value.

• Strong understanding of business processes and an ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Proficiency in various programming languages, frameworks, and databases (e.g., Java, .NET, Python, SQL).

• Experience with cloud computing, AWS, Azure, or other similar technologies.

• Experience with project management methodologies and tools.

• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.

• Strong organization, planning, and project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks for self and team to meet requirements and deadlines.

• Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.

• Strong leadership skills; ability to drive and motivate team to achieve results.

What You Can Offer Us

• Lead and manage the design, development, and deployment of advanced data collection, asset digital modeling, and data analytical applications.

• Work closely with the Digital Solutions team, IT department, and various business functions to analyze existing processes and systems, identify areas for improvement, and develop new solutions to enhance productivity and effectiveness.

• Define and oversee our vendor sourcing strategies to ensure successful application development and ongoing support.

• Stay up to date on the latest technologies, such as AI/ML and AR/VR, that can deliver operational automation and result in value opportunities.

• Provide technical guidance and support to the Digital Solutions R&D and product development opportunities.

• Participate in the formulation of business system architecture plans, assessing the cost and feasibility of requests and ensuring plans support both strategic and near-term needs.

• Implement and enforce rigorous testing and quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of applications. Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify and address issues or bottlenecks.

• Oversee the support and maintenance of existing applications. Monitor performance, resolve technical issues, and provide prompt and effective solutions to end-users.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation including user guides, technical specifications, and standard operating procedures. Conduct training sessions to familiarize users with new applications and features.

• As a Manager Application Development, you may responsible for the recruitment, performance management and career development of Engineers. You’ll also be expected to cultivate a collaborative team dynamic that enables us to meet our business objectives.

• Other duties as assigned.
