Overview
Responsible for providing department leadership and daily support to maintain ongoing quality, productivity, and efficiency levels in the business office with continued focus on improvement of departmental planning, processes, training, trend analysis and evaluation of performance. Continue to be a steward of Novant’s vision to create the most remarkable patient experience, in every dimension, every time, and understand how the Patient Financial Services department contributes to this vision. Identify and communicate issues, backlogs, or opportunities that will directly impact revenue and patient satisfaction. Portray strong leadership and motivational skills to guide the team to optimal performance.

Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
Experience:
Two years Revenue Cycle, customer service or related experience, required.
Three years Revenue Cycle, customer service or related experience, preferred.
One year Leadership experience, preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Coding Certification - CPC, RHIT or RHIA, preferred.
Additional Skills (required):
Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
Understands and can apply knowledge of decision support applications, data source systems and operational procedures and appropriate internal controls.
Human relations and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with management, team members and administration.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Word and Excel
Ability to effectively train new and existing team members
Ability to design, analyze and implement processes surrounding billing, third party relationships, compliance, collections, and other financial functions to ensure effective and efficient operations.
Additional Skills (preferred):
Operationally understand and navigate the Epic system
Coding knowledge (CPT, HCPCS, ICD10)
Medical Terminology
Knowledge of Billing Guidelines, Payor Guidelines and CCI Edits
