Education: Graduate Degree required. Nurse practitioner (NP) or physician assistant (PA).
Experience: 1 year as NP or PA required. 5 years as NP or PA preferred.
Licensure/Certification: NP or PA required.
Additional skills required: Active, unencumbered license to practice as NP or PA in North Carolina. 1+ years of clinical experience in highest level of education (5 years preferred) in internal medicine, family medicine, or geriatric medicine. Access to reliable transportation enabling travel to client sites and/or patient homes within a large geographic service zone. Ability to obtain DEA licensure. Ability to spend extended time in patient homes, sometimes in the presence of pets or individuals who are tobacco users. Ability to lift a 30 pound bag in and out of car and to navigate stairs and a variety of dwelling conditions and configurations. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in patient homes is required. Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the Novant Health pre-shift screening tool prior to beginning work each day, in order to keep our work sites safe.
Additional Skills/Requirements (preferred): Experience in Gerontology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine or Endocrinology. Home care or house calls experience. Excellent organization and the ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex clinical information to patients, caregivers and family. Comfortable with the use of technology, including wireless internet access, electronic medical record documentation, and any other technology used to deliver care in the home.
