Pharmacy Technician Entry

Novant Health is seeking an entry level Pharmacy Tech, to join our hospital Pharmacy Float Pool, to deliver optimal medication management across all dimensions of care, every time. Float Pool team members will support the facilities in the Winston Salem Market including Forsyth Medical Center, Thomasville Medical Center, Clemmons Medical Center, Kernersville Medical Center and Medical Park Hospital. This individual will need the ability to travel to all facilities in the market as scheduled.

Essential functions include:

  • Filling and delivering medication orders for all age groups under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.

  • Answering and screening telephone calls and referring calls to a pharmacist when appropriate.

  • Processing cart fills, refills to automated dispensing machines and replenishments to emergency kits and carts.

  • Demonstrating proficiency with equipment and software.

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.

  • Experience: Prior healthcare experience, preferred.

  • Licensure/certification/registration: Current registry with applicable State Board(s) of Pharmacy or within 15 days of hire, required.

  • Additional skills (required): Considerable knowledge and application of basic math skills (including ratio and proportion relationships), strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Basic technology skills. Other duties as outline in Novant Health and facility specific policies and procedures. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Ability to work as part of a high performing, change ready and resilient team.
