Position : Plant Manager

Manages, directs and coordinates overall plant operations. Through subordinates, supervisors, and managers assures safety, quality, service and production objectives are met within cost standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assures that organizational production objectives are met.
Ensure all plant personnel are operating in compliance with plant and corporate procedures. Report any non-compliance immediately to upper management.
Responsible for assuring plant complies with regulatory requirements. (USDA, State, FDA, OSHA, EPA)
Ensure plant operations comply with the requirements for producing safe, quality foods that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Conduct meetings with plant staff to ensure all operational issues are being communicated and addressed expediently with a common understanding of goals
Assist in developing and responsible for budgets, capital projects, policies and procedures.
Interact with customers to meet their expectations on operational and quality objectives.
Balance raw material supply against sales requirements to develop production plan for strategic inventory
Ensure compliance with all DFA Food Safety and Quality policies and procedures.
Use P&L results and key performance indicators to improve plant performance and profitability.
Ensure compliance with DFA Safety policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with all GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity
Promote a Continuous Improvement culture and associated activities in pursuit of Word Class
Other duties as assigned
Attend corporate meetings concerning safety, quality and operations.
Attend seminars to develop skills need to improve job performance.
Coordinate plant tours with customers.
Bachelor’s of Science in an applicable discipline, preferred. Will consider experience in place of degree.
Minimum of 5 years in a management role, in a food manufacturing plant environment.
Experience within the dairy industry is a plus.
Ability to understand P&L reports
Ability to use P&L results and Key Performance Indicators (KPI”S) to improve plant performance.
Ability to problem solve using the combined talents of various individuals within the Dairy Farmers of America organization.
Excellent team building skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task
Ability to interact in a positive way with all personnel within Dairy Farmers of America and with our customers.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
