Bell Financial Analyst in Winnipeg, Manitoba

Summary

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Finance & Administration, this role will provide ongoing financial planning support, including forecasting & reporting coordination with Bell Business Market finance team, as well as the overall financial processes and financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control & Budgeting

  • Work with the Senior Manager to prepare the monthly corporate reporting package. This includes the timely preparation of meaningful and concise consolidated analysis, which includes comparing latest results to previous forecasts, budget and prior year.

  • Manage (create, modify and distribute) the month end reporting templates for business unit finance primes.

  • Prepare various high quality monthly financial reports and metrics for distribution to the Epic senior leadership team.

  • Build various financial reports to support financial analysis.

  • Identify and assist in implementing new processes which streamline and create efficiencies in the month end reporting processes.

  • Special projects on an ad hoc basis.

Accounting & Administration

  • Preparation of all month-end closing, ledger analysis, capital expenditures and fixed asset management.

  • Maintain the internal accounting systems including sub ledger reconciliation.

  • Monitor integrity of accounting systems and establish a strong working relationship with business operations to ensure connected application are interfacing seamlessly.

  • Management of full cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes and functions.

  • Management of Payroll and Commission processes.

  • Prepare corporate tax schedule and working papers to facilitate the completion of the annual tax return.

  • Ensure all sales tax returns are filed accurately and remittances are made on a timely basis.

Critical Qualifications

  • Professional accounting designation (i.e. CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).

  • 2-3+ years of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, take ownership of issues and see through to resolution

  • Exceptional communication (both written and verbal) skills.

  • Ability to communicate and present information in a clear and concise manner to the relevant audience.

  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Relentless attention to detail and accuracy is critical to performance success.

  • Ability to partner with various cross-functional groups and management levels.

  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, manage competing priorities and balance multiple deliverables.

  • Demonstrated ability to create high quality reports for management.

  • Exceptional Excel skills (pivot tables, logical statement formulas, lookups, etc).

  • Ability to drive results while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
