The CCB Analytics & Reporting Tools Product Team serves as an internal consultancy partnering across lines of business to build Analytics & Reporting capabilities. Our mission is to provide business users with tools for controlled consumption of data to drive value.
Own and support Tableau, Cognos, and Alteryx serving 100K+ users across the firm
Improve the user experience, communities, automation, and features for these tools
Enable controlled consumption environments
Data Consumers - Includes teams and applications that use data for any purpose, including data scientists, reporting team, analysts etc.
Report Consumers - Individuals that utilize curated insights and reporting to make informed business decisions.
The team leads adoption of new tools and platforms being leveraged across the industry. We create a unified and best in class analytics infrastructure by establishing new platforms for self service analytics.
The candidate will be responsible for the Data Prep Area Product
In this role you will be expected to:
Work with stakeholders of all levels and functions to determine requirements for data preparation tools, controls requirements and new capabilities
Identify key value measures for your product and drive positive ROI for the product
Create, own, and prioritize a backlog of deliverables worked by the technology scrum teams to satisfy requirements
Lead, mentor, and train junior staff
Identify, mitigate, and remediate risks associated with self service tool usage
Work closely with your engineering leads to form the self service data prep tool strategy including the expansion of the product to include all self service tools utilized by CCB
Manage vendor relationships to influence their roadmap and effectively use contractually secured resources (training days, enablement days, product trials)
Future proof the Data Prep area product
Decommission products that no longer meet business needs or fail to meet ROI expectations. Provide migration strategy and direct communications to impacted business leaders.
Be a thought leader, developing solutions ancillary to the primary tasks (e.g. governance, entitlements, inventories, controls)
Query data and merge information from diverse data sources to create rich datasets that enable better decision-making
Analyze data using tools such as Tableau, Alteryx and SQL to develop and automate reports or analysis that lead to actionable business insights
Work with other Analytics teams and multi-task on projects to summarize and synthesize data and present recommendations to the businesses in a clear and logical manner
Identify unexplored data opportunities for the business to unlock and maximize the potential of data within the organization
Drive automation of new and existing processes
Keep abreast of industry trends and provide recommendations for testing new and emerging technology
Support ongoing technology evaluation process and proof of concept projects
Minimum 8 years experience performing Data Preparation tasks
Minimum 4 years experience using Alteryx to perform complex data wrangling activities
Experience and excellent understanding of Python
Experience with business intelligence dashboarding tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik or Business Objects
Experience with relational databases optimizing SQL to pull and summarize large datasets, report creation and ad-hoc analyses
Knowledge of modern MPP databases and big-data (Hadoop) concepts
Experience with Hive, Spark SQL, Impala or other big-data query tools
Experience in reporting development and testing, and ability to interpret unstructured data and draw objective inferences given known limitations of the data
Demonstrated ability to think beyond raw data and to understand the underlying business context and sense business opportunities hidden in data
Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and partners from a variety of business functions
Self-starter who can provide thought leadership and drive results in a dynamic and fast evolving environment
