This position is responsible for leading and advancing an enhanced and progressive safety culture throughout the department. Duties include:
Developing and implementing safety culture innovations and tactics across functional groups, districts, and specialty offices within MnDOT.
Developing, leading, and implementing a statewide safety culture strategic plan across all business lines within the agency.Requires working collaboratively with the agency Safety Director and department safety professionals to achieve safety outcomes.
Serving as a member of the Operations Division management team; presenting recommendations to Senior Leadership; and representing the department on matters related to advancing safety culture.
Engaging all staff to understand their role and the expectation that all employees work safely.
Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) years of managerial experience OR three (3) years of professional level supervisory OR four years of advanced professional experience leading safety and safety culture efforts in a large organization.
Experience must include:
Administering state and federal safety regulations;
Identifying organizational safety issues and apply the appropriate solutions and resources; and
Communicating, leading, and engaging others to carry out safety culture strategies and innovations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene or closely related field.
