Position Summary

The SEO & Digital Content Manager role for Aetna Medicare is a critical position in our Marketing organization, with accountability for digital content and improving the earned acquisition and engagement of members, prospects, and shoppers on the Aetna.com/Medicare site, our marketing landing pages, and our DTC Shop, Buy, and Enroll tool.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of audience research, a mastery of SEO best practices, a deep well of empathy for consumers, and a talent for crafting content that resonates with target audiences. They will blend art and science, responsible for driving content initiatives, reporting on performance metrics, and owning the day-to-day operations of creating and publishing content used by tens of millions of users. They will leverage data, analytics, and user research to drive tangible results including incremental visits and sales, improved SERP rankings and performance, and increased digital containment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and implementation of comprehensive content strategies that align with Aetna Medicare’s goals, ensuring all content is optimized for SEO and user engagement

  • Apply a metrics-driven approach to developing content to attract users organically, engage them, and convert them, and help them complete their tasks efficiently and effectively

  • Integrate SEO best practices into all content creation, ensuring keyword optimization, proper use of meta tags, and alignment with user jobs to be done

  • Participate in high-level strategic planning, providing insights on content and SEO to inform broader marketing initiatives

  • Implement on-page SEO best practices, such as keyword placement, internal linking, and proper use of header tags

  • Manage and organize workloads to meet deadlines, and handle site updates with speed and accuracy

  • Partner with MarTech and Creative teams to support and influence the development of our information architecture, marrying site structure to both user needs and intent as well as business structure and compliance realities

  • Ensure all content remains compliant and aligned with regulatory and legal requirements, and also aligns with the brand’s style and tone of voice, to maintain a cohesive identity across platforms

  • Write and structure copy that supports digital journeys and aids users in accomplishing goals in an intuitive way, both short and long form copy

  • Use data to help inform and shape content creation, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions to optimize performance

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in SEO, web content creation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, and the ability to write and edit short and long form copy

  • Advanced understanding of SEO best practices, and a passion for SEO and quality organic acquisition

  • Proficiency in using keyword research tools such as Google Keyword planner, SEMRush, SEOClarity, or similar tools

  • Must be well-organized and able to communicate ideas effectively

  • Strong team player with enthusiasm, positive attitude, and a bias towards action

  • Experience publishing in a CMS and a working knowledge of HTML; experience in Adobe Experience Manager is a plus

  • Understanding and knowledge of other Adobe Products such as Target, Analytics, and CJA is a plus

  • Health care or other highly-regulated industry experience, experience using AI tools or the ability to learn and build this capability, and experience at creative marketing agencies are all plusses

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent (4 years’ experience and High School Diploma/GED) required

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$66,330.00 - $159,120.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
