The New England Branch is seeking a Top Level College Student who is interested in pursuing a career as a Financail Professional with Equitable Advisors.Through the FA Training Program, the FA will be given a broad overview of the career as an FP and will receive training and coaching on items that drive success within the financial services profession.

Responsibilities:

  • FA’s roles and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Be on time in accordance with the scheduled hours as established by the Executive Vice President or Vice President prior to summer, fall and spring phases of the program and dressed appropriately (business attire)

  • Engage in marketing functions, client prospecting, and scheduling appointments

  • Participate in client fact-finding and data gathering

  • Develop skills on prospecting and client database management

  • Learn technology tools that FPs use regularly to help clients

  • Develop process for conducting client annual review meetings and assist Executive Vice President or Vice President with preparation and recommendations; accompany Executive Vice President or Vice President to meetings

  • Coordinate and review client correspondence

  • Provide marketing support to segment books of business

  • Perform analysis and research activities as assigned by Executive Vice President or Vice President

  • Participate in weekly branch training curriculum

  • 40 hour work week

  • $20/ hr

  • 12 week program

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • College students entering junior or senior year

  • Up to 40 hours per week for a maximum of 12 weeks

  • Business/Finance major or equivalent, as determined by the Executive Vice President in his/her sole discretion

  • 3.0 or higher grade point average

  • Desire to be in financial sales

  • Actively involved in local community and exhibits leadership skills (e.g. fraternity/sorority involvement, sports teams, community service, campus clubs, associations, etc.)

  • Must be driven, have an entrepreneurial spirit and be results-oriented

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
