Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Paralegal will independently work and collaborate with individuals at all levels within, and outside of, the company in the area of litigation. This position is for a high performing paralegal with the ability to manage multiple projects and complex legal work, while serving as an expert resource in the area of litigation across the legal function and company. In this role, you will lead and coordinate on litigation matters including conducting discovery, coordinating eDiscovery, drafting legal documents, conducting document review, summarizing key information, managing projects and deadlines, researching and managing case files. A person well suited for this role will require minimal supervision, have excellent time management skills, excel at communications, and have the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, changing environment. This position is for a task-oriented and highly organized paralegal with an excellent sense of prioritization and the ability to successfully navigate matrixed work relationships. The preferred location for this position is in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro, remote applicants will be considered.

Key Accountabilities

  • Independently draft, review and edit legal documents relating to litigation and non-litigation matters.

  • Independently coordinate and monitor progress for complex, high-risk issues and cases.

  • Independently manage matters and projects with minimal supervision, while escalating complex issues to appropriate staff.

  • Deploy strong research skills using traditional and nontraditional data sources, provide support and counsel and advise internal and outside stakeholders on legal matters.

  • Leverage superior organization and communications skills to manage work and relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Work independently and be a self-starter needing minimal supervision.

  • Conduct tasks relating to case management, discovery, eDiscovery, depositions, trial and all aspects of litigation and non-litigation matters including identifying key information needed for a matter, teaming with internal stakeholders, tracking key case information, and attending litigation related events such as depositions and/or mediation.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of four years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Paralegal certificate or comparable legal education from an accredited institution.

  • 7 years of related work experience

Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave accruals of one hour for every 30 worked, up to 48 hours per calendar year unless otherwise provided by law
