Job Purpose and Impact

The Global Category Director will develop strategic sourcing initiatives across businesses and functions to cultivate the sourcing vision. In this role, you will lead in a constantly evolving sourcing landscape and provide direction on innovative ways to source across the organization and improve environmental, social and governance outcomes in supply chains.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the development of corporate sourcing strategy and overall vision to comply with customer and regulatory sourcing requirements.

  • Provide strategic leadership on relevant programs and projects to ensure compliance with key partners requirements and improve environmental, social and governance outcomes.

  • Drive both internal and external engagement plans and networking to ensure strategic alignment with a sourcing approach and challenges.

  • Educate key leaders on sourcing and ongoing developments to drive the domain capability and accomplish strategic goals.

  • Represent Cargill to the external industry and provide benchmarking information on industry best practices.

  • Identify commercial opportunities and improve ways of sourcing in partnership with related businesses and functions.

  • Design, plan and implement strategies to measure the performance and impact of sourcing initiatives.

  • Manage overall budget of the organization.

  • Provide strategic leadership, development and talent management activities for direct reports and their organizations, which may include forecasting resource needs, recruiting, hiring, performance management, training and budgeting. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of eight years of related work experience, with experience managing category spend in excess of $500 million across multiple businesses.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of ten years of experience applying procurement practices and strategies focused on meeting business challenges, P&L needs and growth

  • Team and people management

  • Executive presence and engagement

  • High degree of influencing ability both up, side and down in the organization

  • IT industry and/or sourcing experience preferred centered on IT infrastructure, services and software

  • Strong vendor management and SRM experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Confirmed ability to link and build sustainability impacts and commercial relationships

  • Experience working across multiple supply chains and serving global consumer package goods clients

  • Experience managing category spend in excess of $1 billion across multiple businesses

  • Global people and category management

Short Description
