Job Description

WHAT’S THE JOB?

As a Baker in a remote camp setting, reporting to the Sous Chef, you will be responsible for a full bake including breads, rolls, pastries and some special dietary needs of our clients. This is a rotational position working 14 days on, 14 days off in a remote camp site.

Your work will include:

  • Production of fresh breads, pizza dough, pastries, pies, cakes, muffins, and other pastries

  • Planning and developing dessert offerings

  • Produce 5 – 8 fresh dessert offerings per day

  • Produce a selection of 5 - 8 fresh breakfast pastries

  • Working with Chef and Camp Manager to ensure clients needs are met

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Applicants must have a current Food Safe certificate.

  • Level 1 First Aid certificate is an asset.

  • Large scale camp cooking experience required.

  • Red Seal or other certification is an asset.

  • Experience in accurately producing weekly inventories.

  • High standards in maintaining a clean and organized Kitchen.

  • A self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with little or no supervision.

  • Must have the ability to successfully pass drug and alcohol screening

  • Substances tested for include all legal, illegal, and prescribed medications (alcohol, cannabis , narcotics, stimulants, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, opioids and derivatives – including buprenorphine and methadone, etc.).
