This position serves as a Supervisory General Investigator, responsible for planning, organizing, directing and coordinating internal investigations as a result of complaints filed against assigned officers within the organization. Investigations performed may be of a civil or administrative nature and the employee is responsible for exercising their full scope of investigative authority to carry out the investigative process to report findings and recommendations.

The incumbent will:
- Interview complainant to identify officers being accused and to obtain facts concerning complaints.
- Interview accused officers to obtain responses to accusations.
- Probe and follow up with witness answers that are incomplete, unclear or non-responsive.
- Appropriately advise witnesses of their administrative rights when providing statements or answering questions.
- Record interviews and prepare charges and responses to charges for Chief of AOP and/or Administrator.
- Produce and disseminate investigative reports on the research, gathering of data, analysis and/or evaluation of information to assist in ongoing or future investigations.
- Develop profile data and trend analyses and identifies patterns, correlating the information to provide guidance and potential avenues for the conduct of future investigations.
- Use sources of information from evidence; public or subpoenaed records; and databases such as Lexis/Nexis and the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) to assist in ongoing investigations and to develop guidelines and procedures for the conduct of future investigations.
- Develop courses, curricula, workshops, certification programs, and other educational efforts based on program needs, with a focus on Use of Force and defensive tactics.
- Ensure training participants are able to demonstrate proficiency in subject matters; evaluate practical performance and make recommendations toward remediation.
- Coordinate with internal and external instructors in handling problems involving students; develops remedial training when necessary.
- Evaluate testing procedures, testing results and classroom performance.
- Ensure training complies with established internal and external laws, polices, regulations and guidelines.
- Supervise, administrate, advise, assist, mentor, organize, coordinate and direct subordinates.
- In charge of EEO/internal investigation within AOP.

- Firearms Requirement: The incumbent will be required to carry a firearm and maintain proficiency in their care and use in accordance with NGA policy and standards. Candidates under consideration will be required to certify whether they have ever been convicted of such offense.
