Job Information
S&P Global Municipals and Fixed Income Commercial Executive Director in Washington, District Of Columbia
About the Role:
Grade Level (for internal use):
14
The Team:
The Municipals and Fixed Income team is dedicated to adapting to evolving market dynamics, emphasizing technology and product expertise. We value collaboration, innovation, and strategic thinking, aiming to provide best-in-class products and solutions globally.
Both Muni and Fixed Income markets are on an accelerated evolutionary trajectory in their adoption of electronification where data is an important element.
Responsibilities and Impact:
Drive commercial strategy for both Fixed Income and Municipals focusing on electronification, data utilization, and geographic expansion.
Fixed Income has already adopted some elements of electronification, but there is a need for broad and deep knowledge of the various instruments within this asset class to continue the drive for adoption.
Municipals is far behind in adoption and knowledge from FI can be utilized to help shape the landscape – the candidate will need to be a central player in the market to define the strategy.
Municipals is currently a US based business – the candidate will need to work with the broader team to help identify other countries/regions where our platforms can be adopted. Knowledge of Fixed Income global markets will be required to help shape this strategy.
Assess partnership opportunities to enhance the Municipals and Fixed Income offering.
Fixed Income primary markets are reasonably mature and identifying opportunities requires an understanding of the full life cycle of bond issuance. The candidate will need to search for the less obvious additive partnerships.
Municipals issuance is far less mature and is at a tipping point of adopting some of the Fixed Income markets workflow. The candidate will need to demonstrate their understanding of Fixed Income and apply to the Municipals space to identify partnership opportunities.
Collaborate with the Municipals and Fixed Income teams for a coherent strategy implementation.
Despite FI and Municipals being separate asset classes, each can benefit from the other.
Create and execute the Municipals and Fixed Income product pipeline.
It is key that our FI and Municipals platforms continue to evolve at a pace that matches our clients expectations.
Fixed Income requires understanding of the nuances of individual markets across the globe – this will drive our product pipeline.
Municipals will require not only a pipeline for our US business but also a global pipeline strategy.
Monitor client engagement across Municipals and Fixed Income, with a focus on all personas – to include buyside, sellside, financial advisors.
Municipals market is a very close knit ecosystem and the candidate must implement a US engagement program across our client base. In addition, they will need to engage with regulators and industry bodies.
As Municipals looks to expand globally, the candidate will need to create and drive relationships in other countries/regions that we want to expand into.
Fixed Income engagement will need to be across the globe. The candidate will focus on US, and engage with the broader team for EMEA, MENA and APAC client engagement.
Shape the Municipals and Fixed Income narrative via conferences, press, and social media.
The candidate will drive the narrative for both Fixed Income and Municipals - mainly for US, but also will get involved with the broader team in EMEA, MENA and APAC.
Driving the narrative will involve a multi-layered approach utilizing all forms of media.
Provide best in class products and solutions based on proprietary tools and interoperability with external vendors.
Collaborate with internal sales and account management teams to effectively service our existing and expand our client base.
