DCG Communications Account Supervisor in Washington, District Of Columbia

DCG Communications (DCG) is seeking a motivated, collaborative and highly organized Account Supervisor to work closely with our Project Manager to lead our team on behalf of our federal client, managing a large-scale program, encompassing multiple projects, with a total lifecycle budget and complexity comparable to the task order at hand. The Account Supervisor will develop and execute strategic communication plans in line with the client?s goals and objectives, providing value-add initiatives and generating new ideas. Tasks may include planning, initiating, managing, executing, and closing out small and large-scale programs in support of the agency?s mission.

The client team will deliver a broad spectrum of communications products in support of the client?s services and direct communications support to the client?s management team. Additionally, the team will support and evaluate internal/external social media tools, provide maintenance, operation, and content support of the Internet/intranet websites, SharePoint pages/portals, and social media platforms through the development of presentations. Lastly, the team will develop talking points, web content, and other deliverables, as necessary.

Location: Currently the team is working virtually due to COVID-19. Under typical circumstances, the Account Supervisor will work onsite four days per week at our client?s office in Washington, DC.

Position Requirements:

  • Master?s degree or equivalent years of relevant experience

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of prior public relations and communications experience to include leading projects and supporting and managing federal programs

  • Strong experience leading web projects

  • Proven ability to work with senior-level executives

  • Experience creating content for web and managing projects from conception to completion

  • Exceptional attention to detail and highly organized

  • Proven to have excellent writing and project management skills, an eagerness to work in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to manage a diverse workload

  • Ability to lead and direct federal projects to include strategic planning, overseeing delivery, client management, directing all communication, managing deliverable schedules, and more

  • Demonstrates strong writing skills for content generation with the ability to edit materials prepared by others to ensure deliverables are client-ready

  • Experience providing internal communications with the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) or other federal agencies strongly preferred

  • Experience with knowledge management and change management initiatives strongly preferred

  • Contribute to account strategy; oversee deliverables; serve as day-to-day client manager; display team and project leadership skills and provides guidance to junior account team members

  • Set team/manage expectations in terms of performance, communication, and work standards

  • Establish a positive work culture within the account and serves as a trusted voice and approachable person to help team members work through challenges

  • Raise concerns with ability to meet expectations

  • Offer suggestions and resources to improve team dynamic

  • Engage team members on their attitude towards account; listen intently and advocate for improvements when necessary

  • Assist staff in conflict resolution and problem solving, mentor staff

  • Proactively uncover opportunities to create client value in existing or new client accounts

  • Display advanced people and project management skills by understanding how budget, ODCs, and hours are allocated to maximize contract

  • Understand facets of your team's business development/account management plans

  • Proactively identify, implement, and address efficiency, risk management, and value-add activities

  • Apply sound and informed logic to structure problem solving and recommendations

  • Identify and builds relationships w/ clients and prospective clients

  • Manage specialized/shared resources

  • Clearly articulate the value that the DCG project brings to the client's mission

  • Work with Director, VP & CFO to understand and achieve the desired profitability of the contract

  • Undertake activities that provide clients with a return-on-investment (ROI)

  • Business Development

  • Work closely with DCG leadership to support contract recompete

  • Steward of DCG revenue and profitability

  • Help to write contract modifications; scopes hours based on current contract, budget and client experience; manages partner scoping

  • Stay on top of trends/ research and brings new ideas to the table that can become ?products and offerings? that DCG can provide to the client

  • Support DCG proposal efforts as needed, writing, research, past performance write-ups, etc.
