National Grid Power Systems Model Development Manager in Warwick, United Kingdom

We are seeking a talented and experienced individual to join our Network Development team as the Power Systems Model Development Manager. In this role, you will be leading our System Engineering capability, delivering up-to-date and high-quality models and representations of the Electricity Transmission (ET) network.

The efficient and effective management of power system data is crucial in our operations and as Manager of the team, you’ll play a key role in challenging, reviewing, and updating models to best represent the ET network. These models form the foundation for accurate Power System analysis within our ET business, supporting vital activities such as the delivery of ETYS models to the Electricity System Operator.

Through data management you will contribute to enable us to make informed decisions, identify areas for improvement, and enhance the overall performance of the transmission network.

This role is based out of our offices in Warwick and can be combined with hybrid working from home.

About You

You’ll be a highly qualified and experienced Manager in the Power Systems Modelling field, used to leading a team. With a degree (or equivalent) in engineering, you’ll have a strong understanding of the electricity sector and expertise in electricity transmission.

You’ll have a proven track record of successfully leading professional engineering teams and have experience in planning and modelling the electricity transmission system using the DIgSILENT PowerFactory analysis tool.

You’ll have experience of working closely with customers and stakeholders to facilitate the use of models in customer connection assessments, the transmission network, and third-party models. Additionally, you’ll have experience providing power system data and models to internal and external stakeholders and be capable of representing National Grid in external technical working groups, seminars, and conferences.

To excel in this role, you should have proven leadership and influencing skills, demonstrated by your ability to lead high-performing teams and work effectively with peers and senior management.
