About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a People Partner to join our National Grid Electricity Transmission (ET) People team. Working collaboratively with the business and People team, and reporting into the ET Senior People Partner, you’ll partner our engineering and commercial leadership teams across ET, giving advice and coaching Leaders on all elements of the people agenda including talent management, DEI , leadership development and query management. You’ll interpret and apply wider HR policy to meet business requirements and will support with targeted interventions relating to recruitment, retention and reward, among other activities.

You’ll be responsible for

  • Providing high quality, consistent, risk-based advice for all levels of leadership within the business area, acting as a trusted advisor to build a reputation as a credible, professional and flexible HR professional.

  • Partnering and providing best practice solutions to business problems, proactively seeking opportunities to build knowledge of business requirements in order to provide tailored ‘fit for purpose’ advice.

  • Developing and delivering the strategic people priorities across the engineering and commercial leadership teams to ensure that there is alignment between people and business strategy, working in partnership with the leadership team to ensure delivery of the plan.

  • Leading on key projects and activities (e.g. Inclusion & Diversity, Talent Management and Performance Management.)

  • Supporting the delivery of key people processes / cyclical activities (such as performance management and pay review) by working with People CoEs and business stakeholders.

  • Analysing performance metrics and data to provide people data insights and recommendations.

  • Supporting the Senior People Partner to deliver on key strategic priorities across ET.

As part of our hybrid and flexible working approach this permanent full-time role offers a mix of office working in Warwick and home working. We can also offer some flexibility in terms of hours/times.

About you

  • Proven track record of business partnering and providing risk-based advice, tailored to the needs of the business, while working within the context of a complex, matrix organisation

  • Knowledge and experience across the full spectrum of people activities in order to provide a rounded service to the business area.

  • Strong influencing and communication skills in order to build strong relationships at all levels of the organisation and with a broad range of stakeholders.

  • A motivated self-starter with the ability to adapt to different business needs and with a continuous improvement mindset

  • Emotionally intelligent, with a number of courageous conversations under your belt to draw on when coaching and influencing others

  • Ability to analyse data and provide insights to support strategic direction of ET.

  • Experience of managing projects from initiation to implementation and review.

  • Discipline and attention to detail in managing data, policies and processes

  • CIPD qualified or working towards it.

What you'll get

A salary of £50,000 -£55,000 per annum - dependent on experience.
