National Grid Network Development Services Manager in Warwick, United Kingdom

About the role

National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) is at the heart of energy in the UK. The electricity that our network provides gets the nation to work, powers schools and brings energy to life. Our network connects the nation, so it’s essential that it’s continually evolving, advancing, and improving. In NGET we are passionate about both operating safely and providing a highly reliable quality of supply for our customers.

As Network Development Services Manager you’ll ensure NGET has access to the Power System services and resources it needs to plan the biggest transmission network upgrade in a lifetime to meet Net Zero. You will be a key enabler to our business and its stakeholders through the sourcing, coordination and management of power system resources across the department. This will include identifying and defining requirements, agreeing timescales and resourcing strategies, and providing assurance of power system outputs to NGET and its customers.

You’ll ensure that products, processes, and services are defined and kept up to date to meet the needs of NGET’s internal and external stakeholders and develop holistic, safe, fit for future and operable networks.

A key enabler of our power system capability is our data and modelling, and therefore you’ll be responsible for this key area for NGET. You’ll be accountable for the data and intelligence necessary to support network analysis and optimisation, as well as assuring high quality data controls across Network Development and identifying continuous improvement actions.

You’ll also have responsibility for Network Development transformation – ensuring that our capabilities, tools, policies and processes evolve to meet the needs of the industry and future electricity networks.

This role is based out of our offices in Warwick and can be combined with hybrid working from home.
