National Grid Induction & Onboarding Coordinator in Warwick, United Kingdom

About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Induction & Onboarding Coordinator to join us on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract!

It’ll be an exciting time to join our team as our new Strategic Infrastructure (SI) business unit has been set up to deliver 17 new major projects in the UK, as well as other strategic projects to help us deliver on our net zero ambitions and help the UK Government meet its target of 50GW of renewable energy by 2030. Our aim is to help the UK switch to clean energy and make sure our electricity network is fit for the future; carrying more clean, secure energy from where it’s generated to where you need it.

As we continue to grow the business unit, as the Induction and Onboarding Coordinator you will be responsible for coordinating the induction and onboarding journey for all new hires into Strategic Infrastructure.

This role focuses on ensuring a smooth transition for new employees during their first six weeks in their roles, providing logistical support, and enhancing the overall employee experience. The coordinator will work closely across the department to facilitate an effective induction process to ensure that new joiners have the necessary information, knowledge, and support to get off to a strong start.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate and manage the induction and onboarding process for new hires in the SI department during their first six weeks.

• Collaborate with hiring managers, HR, Communications team and other relevant stakeholders to develop and implement an effective onboarding program.

• Organise and schedule orientation sessions, training programs, and other onboarding activities.

• Provide logistical support for induction events, including arranging meeting rooms, speakers and facilitators and necessary equipment.

• Act as a point of contact for new hires during their first six weeks, addressing their questions and concerns during the onboarding process.

• Work with various teams to ensure that new joiners receive the necessary initial training and resources to perform their roles effectively.

• Continuously evaluate and improve the onboarding process based on feedback and best practices.

• Maintain and update relevant onboarding materials, including handbooks, guides, and training materials.

• Foster a positive and inclusive onboarding experience for new employees, promoting a sense of belonging and engagement.

About You

• Proven experience in coordinating and managing employee onboarding program or other change programmes.

• Proficient in organisational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

• Knowledge of HR best practices and familiarity with employment laws and regulations.

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

• A customer-centric mindset and a passion for creating a positive employee experience.

What You'll Get

A competitive salary between £41,000 - £52,000– dependent on capability

More Information

• This role is offered on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

• We are also offering hybrid working in which we envisage you will spend on average 2 days a week at the Warwick National Grid office, connecting with your customers and teams - with the remainder from home.

Interviews will be held in the afternoon on Friday 13th December or Monday 16th December 2024. The Interview will entail at 10-minute presentation with the remainder focusing on experience and competencies which align to the job description.
