POSITION: Small Business Credit Analyst

The Small Business Credit Analyst collaborates with both the Commercial Credit and Small Business Lending teams. In the Credit function, the Analyst assists with evaluating and managing credit risk related to existing and potential Commercial Real Estate and Corporate Banking borrowers. The Analyst will also be involved in key components of Small Business lending, including application processing, underwriting, and document preparation/delivery.

Key Result Areas:

  • Maintain primary responsibility for spreading financial statements for existing borrowers and new prospects and coordinate with the C&I Portfolio Administrator to manage the pipeline of financial statements submitted for spreading.

  • Process applications and initiate the underwriting process to determine consideration path of loan request:express, traditional non-SBA, SBA.

  • Serve as the secondary point of contact for new Small Business credit requests, developing proficiency in CreditQuest to underwrite Small Business credit requests.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of SBA program guidelines and works collaboratively with the Small Business Lending Manager in ensuring applicable full loan transaction compliance with the SBA.

  • Facilitate document preparation and delivery for all approved Small Business credit requests.

  • Assist senior analysts with preparation of annual reviews of existing borrowers.

  • Support credit risk management activities, including but not limited to internal/external audits, loan reviews, and regulatory compliance matters.

  • Perform additional duties as required.

    Qualifications:

  • Associate degree, preferably in business, finance, or accounting, or 3 years of banking/financial services experience.

  • Ability to concisely articulate ideas both verbally and in writing.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Knowledge of Excel and Word, as well as ability to learn and adapt to internal bank systems.

  • Ability to work both independently and in groups.

  • Effective project and time management skills, with ability to multi-task.
