POSITION: Payroll Manager

The Payroll Manager is responsible for managing payroll processing, establishing policies and processes that ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholding, and company deductions. Reporting to the Head of Compensation & HR Operations, CSB’s Payroll Manager collaborates with Finance and HR to ensure timely processing of payroll, compliance with laws and regulations.

Key Result Areas:

  • Manage every facet of payroll administration including routine payroll processing, adherence to tax regulations and reporting as well as compliance

  • Ensure accurate, compliant, and punctual processing of payroll while effectively handling and resolving any payroll-related issues as they arise.

  • Identify and implement process improvements for more efficient, accurate, and compliant payroll operations, collaborating with various departments and external vendors to integrate systems, overseeing payroll system projects, developing procedures and policies, and providing training on payroll initiatives and changes.

  • Serve as the point of contact for payroll and compensation vendors, maintaining strong relationships and resolving issues as they arise.

  • Budget & forecast payroll expenses ensuring payroll activities align with the approved budget and are in line with the financial goals of the organization.

  • Manage all payroll related reporting including tax filings, census reports and accounting reports and GL Interface files and prepare and maintain all appropriate pay records in compliance with federal and state regulations.

  • Manage eTime files including obtaining signatures, signing off and transferring eTime files in preparation for payroll processing. Maintain employee schedules and audit timecard entry regularly.

  • Establish and implement policies on such matters as garnishments and payroll advancements to employees.

  • Ensures compliance with current government regulations and prepares government reporting.

  • Hire, train, develop and supervise payroll staff.

  • Perform additional duties as required.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 5+ years of experience in leading a payroll function with hands-on experience with different Payroll, Time and Attendance, Human Resources Information Systems, and Payroll Service Providers. Preferred experience with UKG and ADP.

  • Understanding of 401(k) plan administration and experience with payroll taxes.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage effectively numerous concurrent projects and tasks in a fast-paced and rapidly growing environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
