National Grid is hiring a Principal Program Manager, Project Management for Massachusetts This is a Hybrid Role - Must live within a commutable distance to one of our locations

Job Purpose

We are a small team that works closely with leaders across the company to help them achieve their transformation goals. Due to our size, flexibility, speed, and good relationships are critical for us to be successful. You’ll partner with different Functions across the business to coordinate plans, and track and support transformation initiatives.

Key Accountabilities

  • This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Internal candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.

  • Work closely with all parts of the New England business unit and functions to drive transformation within the Massachusetts business and enable the company to achieve its strategic vision

  • Support the day-to-day relationship with relevant internal parties to drive transformation within the Massachusetts business

  • Develop and maintain plans to execute specific transformational initiatives

  • Establish and manage timelines with a cross-functional team for transformation initiatives

  • Track progress against the transformation plans with milestones on track or recovery plans in place

  • Strategize, develop, test and implement the best approach to achieve long-term transformation goals

  • Identify risks and opportunities across elements of the transformation

  • Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to improve collaboration and coordination

  • Develop analysis and build expertise with dashboards to support transformation initiatives

Qualifications

  • Experience in consulting or change management or project management or strategy

  • Experience preferred in the energy industry that includes strategy development and execution, transformation initiatives/programs, and/or stakeholder/change management

  • Experience conducting presentations to senior leadership/stakeholders

  • Extremely organized but also must enjoy working on open-ended problems

  • Strong MS Office Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills – Able to build relationships quickly and to influence at all levels of the organization

  • Critical thinking and problem solving – Need to be able to draw sound conclusions from quantitative and qualitative data sources, quickly identifying relevant information to solve specific business problems

  • Organizational / Project Management skills with proven experience of delivering quality outcomes, on time and with full transparency of risks, issues, and assumptions

  • Good business acumen with appreciation of the day-to-day business challenges of the US New England Business and Energy Transition

  • Self-starter, able to work well with others, and on own initiative, to successfully drive through ambiguity 

  • Value diversity of experience and perspective

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • MBA preferred, but not required

  • Possess a valid driver’s license

More Information

Salary - $145,000 - $170,000
