National Grid’s Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a year-long development program for recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry. Graduates will shape the future of National Grid. Bringing fresh thinking, new perspectives, and exploring with energy, we’ll give you real responsibility and an opportunity to move with purpose from day one – putting the power to supercharge your career in your hands.

Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, you’ll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project.

About the Position

As an Associate Analyst, you will join our New York Strategy & Transformation team and have the unique opportunity to gain invaluable experience by directly supporting the New York Business Unit’s strategy and transformation. The role focuses on plan development, performance reporting, employee communications & engagement, and project implementation of New York's strategy and transformation plans. You will have access to mentorship & professional development opportunities and exposure to high impact projects & strategic initiatives.

This is a hybrid role with 1-2 days of work in the office as needed based on meetings, trainings, and collaboration.

What You'll Do

In this position, you will have gain exposure and experience across all areas of New York Strategy & Transformation including in the Future of Electric, Future of Gas, Change, and Planning & Performance teams.

You will:

  • Plan Development: Aid in the creation and refinement of strategic plans aimed at delivering the clean energy future for our New York customers.

  • Performance Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of detailed performance reports to track progress against NY’s strategic priorities.

  • Change Management: Support internal communications, engagement and change management to ensure employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with our transformation and the changes needed to drive our energy transition.

  • Plan Implementation: Play an active role in executing transformation plans, including in electric, gas, customer, and change.

  • Market and Policy Analysis: Aid in efforts to analyze market and policy dynamics and decisions for their impacts on the company’s strategy and plans.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Environmental Science, or related field from an accredited institution

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Passion for clean energy, sustainability, and delivering for our customers

  • Graduated between May 2024 and June 2025

  • Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 2, 2025 or July 7, 2025

  • Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy

  • Applicants for the Graduate Development Program must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)

Salary Range

Brooklyn, New York $75,000 - $92,000 a year

Waltham, Massachusetts $70,000- $86,000 a year

Please note US Colleagues must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont. As a National Grid employee, you should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
