Sodexo General Manager / Chef Manager in WALPOLE, Maine

Sodexo's Campus Segment is seeking a General Manager/ Chef Manager at Darling Marine Center , Walpole, Maine. The Darling Marine Center is located right on the ocean in beautiful Walpole, Maine. Feeding 40 - 50 Residential Students each Fall Semester and Catering 30 - 40 events per year, this position is perfect for a manager looking to own their business. This position is a working manager position and will be one of the four employees preparing food daily within the unit. In the off season, there will be planning as well as other functions at the unit to prepare for the more busy season.

The ideal candidate for this position needs to be self driven, dependable, have a great culinary background and leadership skills.

We are looking for candidates who will:

  • have oversight of day-to-day operations;

  • deliver high quality food service;

  • achieve company and client financial targets and goals;

  • develop and maintain client and customer relationships;

  • develop strategic plans;

  • create a positive environment; and

  • ensure Sodexo Standards are met.

The ideal candidate:

  • has a work history demonstrating strong leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively;

  • has culinary production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance;

  • has the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service;

  • can demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed; and

  • can demonstrate working knowledge of Sodexo Food Management Systems (FMS) and Market Connections (MSC), and is proficient in computer skills and report management experience.

While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 2 years
