Symantec Field Systems Engineer 3 - Channel in United States

Responsibilities

  • The System Engineer will work as a member of the sales team to provide in-depth technical knowledge and support during the sales cycle, enabling end-user customers, channel and industry partners in the deployment of products, particularly in cyber security products.

  • Work closely with sales team at the pre-sales stage, to introduce Symantec Security Solutions, and demonstrate the key values to customers.

  • Work with other SEs to supplement their expertise in relevant solution areas, design the solution using a range of Symantec products, particularly in Security, in order to gain technical acceptance from the customer and drive sales revenue.

  • Articulate and demonstrate Symantec solutions, influence customer’s technical requirements in partnership with the business unit, and position products relative to competition.

  • Presentations and customer interaction are a critical part of this position.

  • The Senior Specialist should recognize new business opportunities in the account, helping to generate and maintain a revenue pipeline.

  • Utilize Symantec sales processes to develop account plans in partnership with the sales team.

  • Experience in servicing Financial Industry, Government, Telecommunication and Major accounts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

  • At least 8 years of experience in pre-sales or related field.

  • Solid experience on Unix administration and High Availability Configuration skills

  • Security solution experience is a must

  • Can work independently on the whole pre-sales process: Product Introduction, Demo, POC, Value Proposition, and help sales team to close the cases

  • Able to install and demonstrate assigned solution set defined by the manager, sometimes POC is needed

  • Must be recognized as the product expert of an assigned product group.

  • Ability to present a professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to relate to a wide range of technical staff and managers in customer environments.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
