Georgia Retina is a group practice established in 1995 focused on the treatment of diseases effecting the retina, macula, and vitreous of the eye. Since then we have expanded throughout the northern half of Georgia to 12 locations and 16 ophthalmologists and are one of the largest retina specialists practices in the southeast! Our teams work closely in conjunction with our board-certified physicians to provide our patients the highest level of care in a supportive, customer-focused environment.

Responsible for assisting in the care, treatment and education of the practice’s patients.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Obtains patient history and chief complaint, checks vision, instills eye drops and charts procedures for medical records/EMR
Performs diagnostic testing including OCTs, visual fields, FAs, and fundus photography
Fields patients’ questions during visits and via phone, providing advice and resolving problems in consultation with the doctors
Uses, cleans, and maintains equipment and supplies appropriately
Schedules surgeries with patients
In accordance with doctor's orders preps and assists with any needed in-office procedures
Submits patients’ prescriptions and prescription refills, with physician’s approval
Scribes and assists doctors professionally and promptly with office procedures and patient care
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED at the minimum. College degree in the field of science preferred but not required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one to two years experience in a healthcare or ophthalmology setting preferred but not required.
REQUIREMENTS: Computer skills, customer service skills, ability to travel to other office locations on occasion, ability to stay late or come in early if needed.
