Pearson Senior Finance/Commercial Business Partner in Romania
About the role
Senior commercial business partner supporting Pearson’s recently acquired DTC language learning business, Mondly. Mondly is a critical part of the English Language Learning (ELL) division’s growth strategy and this role will involve working with the teams across Pearson and Mondly, as well as with the ELL Leadership Team, to help ensure that Mondly meets its financial, strategic and operational objectives. The role requires a combination of senior level financial and commercial experience to help shape the business and drive results.
Key Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for monthly financial and KPI reporting and analysis (with support from third party accountant and PFS). This will include supporting the Pearson Group team on additional data requirements for Pearson’s external market reporting at quarter ends (e.g. market sizing and key KPI data).
Ensure robust and sensible financial plans and forecasts are in place, and continually monitor strategic risks and opportunities against these, mitigating all risks and driving actions to maximise opportunities.
Oversight of Mondly synergies with Pearson to ensure the business is on track to achieve overall growth targets. This includes helping to assess and prioritise competing resource and investment requests to maximise results.
Regular review and monitoring of KPIs to help shape the strategic direction of the business and maximise ROI. This would include working with Mondly and Pearson data analytics teams to improve KPI reporting and analysis.
Continue the full financial integration of Mondly into Pearson. This includes overseeing Mondly’s financial integration into Pearson’s global ERP system (“TEP”) during 2023 and working with Pearson controls team on SOX compliance and internal audit team during 2023.

Experience working as part of a senior leadership team
Experience in helping to drive change and shaping strategic direction
Experience working with a DTC subscription business
Experience working with an international organisation (desired)
