JD Test Security Specialist

Pearson Test of English (PTE) is a portfolio of secure English language tests trusted by governments, universities and professional bodies as an accurate, reliable and secure way to measure the English proficiency of their applicants. Offered in more than 100 countries the tests are used by those taking life-changing steps in their lives and careers.

Purpose

We are recruiting a Test Security specialist to join the PTE team to be responsible for the effective implementation and continuous improvement of our test security policies and procedures. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate an ability to balance the demands of reacting to security incidents as they arise whilst maintaining a focus on analysing information to inform the continuous improvement and the evolution of our approach to maintaining the integrity of PTE.

Key accountabilities Include:

Collaborating with investigation teams to review security incident evidence, determining the appropriate response based on established policies

Proactively monitoring trends to identify opportunities to improve security processes, procedures and policies, strengthening test integrity whilst minimising customer disruption

Actively monitoring key operational metrics, highlighting as appropriate divergence form expected incident resolution times

Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of regulatory and contractual conditions, ensuring that malpractice, appeals, ID and other policies and procedures are compliant with those conditions and are adapted as necessary

Ensuring that process and policy documentation is maintained in accordance with the established Quality Management System

Owning and managing the process of reporting incidents and metrics to governmental, regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders

Supporting the identification, qualification and prioritisation of new technology features in collaboration with technology and security teams

Collaborating with Product Managers in the identification of potential product modifications beneficial to the integrity of PTE

As necessary training other team members in security processes and procedures ensuring adequate cover for absence

Developing an understanding of other functional areas and providing support as necessary during busy periods

Qualifications

Essential

Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail

Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple priorities

Ability to analyse and interpret statistical data – intermediate user of Excel

Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams to deliver results

Experience designing and implementing processes and procedures

Strong communication skills with the ability write formal documentation

Desirable

Experience working in an assessment organisation in an operational role

Experience working in a regulated environment

Experience of computer-based assessment

Experience working in an international team

Note : the successful applicant will be required to undergo a background check by the UK Home Office in connection with Pearson’s Secure English Language Test contract with the Home Office.
