Position Purpose:

Responsible for training and/or re-training delivery drivers on on all aspects of the delivery driver job duties. Utilizes all company training guides, manuals, checklists and processes to ensure compliance with company policies, practices, safety and DOT regulations. Performs preferred work method observations and provides verbal and written feedback on driver trainees' performance including suggested development actions. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills. Utilizes all systems and tools effectively, i.e. computer, software systems.

  • Exceptionally strong knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations (i.e., hours of service, pre-trip/post-trip, etc) and company safety policies and practices. Ensures all policies are followed.

  • Delivers hands-on training that allows for maximum transfer of knowledge while ensuring customer needs, service times, labor and transportation costs are met and within guidelines.

  • Provides ongoing and timely feedback to assigned driver trainees and supervisory staff. Feedback includes positive reinforcement and constructive corrective actions.

  • Understands and exhibits strong customer service skills

  • Works with new driver hires and experienced drivers in classroom and/or field settings to prepare them for a successful professional driver career

  • May supplement PFG Driver Training Manual with local programs specific to the location, products and reports used in that market

  • Performs all route delivery duties per company guidelines and safety regulations including pre/post trip, inspection of load and freight, adherence to delivery windows, ensures accuracy of customer delivery, utilizes equipment as prescribed, collects cash/check if required, completes returns and driver-check in process and performs necessary housekeeping to ensure cleanliness of tractor and trailer.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Physical ability to sit, stand, and walk frequently for sustained periods of time.

  • Physical ability to occasionally bend, kneel, crouch, climb, or crawl.

  • Exposure to a variety of environmental conditions: weather, temperature, lighting, and noise as determined by circumstances at accounts within assigned territory.

Position Purpose:

You will support all functions of the Transportation Department, with a focus on data analysis, route planning and operational efficiency. You will also contribute to the management of drivers, routes, deliveries, maintenance, security and safety, and other transportation related functions to create direct contributions to the division and to customers’ experiences. A successful candidate will have effectively demonstrated an ability to continuously build better processes, manage daily operations, and instill a culture of innovation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring application of safety, accident-prevention standards, methods, and procedures.

  • Collaborating in the development and implementation of infrastructure and process guidelines.

  • Driving efficiencies within the department and increase division performance against key metrics.

  • Discovering opportunities to improve routing operations and increase back-haul revenues.

  • Promoting and managing safety at all levels of the operation

  • Leading and conducting performance management to foster departmental growth of personnel.

  • Completing paperwork such as: evaluations, accident/injury logs, and other reports and records.

  • Collecting and analyzing data to evaluate department and individual performance.

  • Using data to improve routing and equipment utilization.

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of logistics supervisory experience.

  • Data collection & management

  • Distribution or Logistics systems experience

  • Possessing a Class AZ driver's license an asset

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

  • High level knowledge of Microsoft office applications such as Word and Excel.

  • Ability to manage routing and distribution, and logistic computer software.

  • Ability to analyze, critically evaluate situations, and communicate effectively.

Required Qualifications:

Required Experience: 1 - 3 Years

At least 1 year of route Driving experience with

PFG; At least 2 years of route Driving experience overall

Route delivery driver experience specifically in foodservice

distribution industry with in-depth knowledge of DOT

regulations. Computerized fleet operations management systems knowledge (i.e. PeopleNet), Valid CDL A and DOT Health Card, must be 21 years of age, Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where

applicable), No attendance write-ups in the last 6 months

No disciplinary action in the last 12 months, No more than 3 points per PFG preventable accident policy in last rolling 12 months. MVR policy point assessment of less than 20 points (Good or Professional Level)
