Job Description

Account Supervisor Primary Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

  • The Account Supervisor will oversee and be actively involved in the daily hands-on cleaning services of aShopping Centre in Victoria B.C. maintaining company and client quality standards reporting to the AccountDirector.

  • Assist the Account Director by training, and supervising employees in a positive, friendly, fast pacedatmosphere and having the ability to competently manage daily work tasks for cleaning staff in all departments.

  • Hands on cleaning of assigned areas and reporting areas of concern to management and staff

  • Supervising a team of 20-30 employees comprised of food court attendants, organics sorting, exterior, porter,and night crew staff

  • Assist in controlling budget labour hours through scheduling of employees as required.

  • Attending regular operations meetings as required with the Account Director & Clients.

  • Experience preferred using all onsite equipment including auto scrubbers, floor machines, all surfacecleaners, carpet extractors, rotary buffers, power washers, tucker poles, IMOPS, vacuums, wet vacuums &assorted cleaning tools. Onsite training will be provided for all machines, equipment & tools

  • Providing necessary onsite training for associates including general use of cleaning tools and equipment asneeded.

  • Monitoring and using electronic washroom logs (WANDA system)

  • Inspecting shopping centre throughout the day and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness at all times andcorrecting cleaning deficiencies as needed.

  • Maintaining required cleaning supply levels in all areas and reporting supplies needed to the AccountDirector.

  • Perform inspections on all cleaning equipment daily including vacuums sweepers scrubbers & tools to ensure it is in good condition and safe to use, reporting deficiencies to the Account Director.

  • Being accountable for keys and communication devices (radio, cell phone, laptop)

  • Identifying and resolving any cleaning issues or concerns from clients, public or staff.

  • Performing any other assignments required to ensure the success of the team.

Safety Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

  • Setting a positive example for associates to follow by incorporating safe work practices in all aspects of theiractivities.

  • Follow the client and company's Health & Safety policies, Security policies and procedures at all times.

  • Complete all Health & Safety training required.

  • Reporting and correcting any safety concerns using the company's safety reporting system.

  • Co-chair the Dexterra joint health and safety committee

  • Investigating and reporting workplace injuries or accidents to the Account Director and H&S teamimmediately.

  • Ensure all safety equipment & PPE is available and being used properly by staff at all times.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections of work areas.

  • Organize, document & lead monthly Joint Health & Safety meetings

Qualifications

Successful applicants will meet or exceed the following requirements:

  • Applicants must have a clean criminal record.

  • Applicant will be required to apply for reliability status to work in federal offices and facilities

  • Must have minimum 1- 2 years cleaning experience - required

  • Must have minimum 1- 2 years supervisory experience - required

  • Must have strong work ethics and be committed to meeting contract requirements in all departments including working night shifts resulting from absence of staff due to illness, vacations, or terminations

  • Applicant will be required to use computer and Microsoft software - training provided

  • Applicant will be required to use basic time management software systems - training provided

  • Applicant will be required to use excel based work schedules as required - training provided

  • Practical experience preferred regarding stripping & waxing floors, carpet extraction, power washing, cleaningwashrooms, garbage & cardboard removal, high dusting etc.

  • Training will be provided in all areas to meet contract specific requirements for all areas of responsibility
