Role:

This is a Finance position responsible for overseeing and providing direct supervision to oversee all functions of Inventory Control. The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for leading the receiving and management of inventory within our production facility. This manager is responsible for a critical function that ensures continuity of our operations and on-time delivery for our customers. As a working-supervisor the incumbent will be required to support these departments in performing and reviewing quarterly cycle counts; investigating inventory outs; performing and overseeing all QA functions in accordance with Sysco Food Safety standards and various customer specific standards; providing guidance and direction to DC and Will Call to support their daily activities; and ensuring appropriate backup.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper controls are maintained in accounting for and physically controlling inventory.

  • Measure the quality & inventory transaction accuracy while providing feedback to the operations.

  • Monitor KPIs regarding accuracy and integrity of inventory transactions; and provide feedback to Operations where necessary.

  • Review sales movement needs and arrange for product transfers from outside storage.

  • Schedule physical inventories and ensure adequate counting procedures.

  • Plan & execute a minimum of four (4) cyclical counts per year or one full count per quarter in each area of the facility.

  • Plan for & identify root causes of inventory deviation through cause & effect analysis.

  • Partner with Site Director of Operations & Sales Director in the communication of policies and procedures.

  • Review all facility requirements and build standard operating procedures to fulfill all requirements.

  • Develop & execute daily, weekly & monthly action plans that improve quality, inventory accuracy & service.

  • Ensure that Warehouse maintains all system inventory including freshness counts and checks, product rotation and damage checks.

  • Minimize inventory shrinkage and spoilage through timely and effective follow up and reports to management.

  • Accounts for and ensures proper documentation in the disposition of donated, reclaimed and salvaged products.

  • Conduct third party audits.

  • Comply with all applicable regulations/laws and company policies,

  • Ensure all functions are carried out per FAMM standards.

  • Works with Food Safety and Quality Assurance to ensure understanding and working within HACCP and Food Safety Program parameters and ensure HACCP requirements are met.

  • Create a positive work environment that enhances the working relationship with other departments.

  • Works safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately.

  • Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.

  • Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.

  • Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):

  • Minimum 2 years of warehouse, inventory control, QA, or related experience, preferably in food distribution

  • Experience in a leadership capacity preferred.

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED required.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Powerpoint.

  • Experience with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems preferred.

  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Able to multi-task, prioritize and organize to execute to completion and meet deadlines.

  • Can effectively collaborate with all levels of staff.
