State of Minnesota Construction Code Representative 1-Boiler Inspector in Various, Minnesota

Job Summary Job Summary This position covers the State of Minnesota, specifically, Northeast Territory (District 2). The position will work from a home office, preferably located in one of the following counties: Aitkin, Carlton, Chisago, Cook, Crow Wing, Isanti, Itasca, Kanabec, Lake, Mille Lacs, Pine and St. Louis. This position exists to guard the safety and health of occupants and users of buildings in Minnesota through inspection that assures compliance with the provisions of Minnesota Statutes and Rules regulating boilers, pressure vessels, boats for hire, and historical boilers used on all projects in the state. Provides technical support and consultation to clientele by applying advanced level understanding of all types of systems and equipment involving high pressure piping and ammonia, and the principles and practices of uniform application of laws, codes and regulations. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications It is the policy of Labor and Industry (DLI) that all employees submit to a driver’s license check prior to employment when driving a vehicle is a requirement of the position. Possession and maintenance of a valid driver’s license is required for this position. Minnesota Chief Engineer Grade A license. Knowledge of and ability to use computers, including Microsoft products. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with clientele, general public, and DLI employees. Ability to travel in-state and/or overnight. Ability to relate and communicate effectively with individuals who do not share the same culture, ethnicity, language, or other common experiences.
