Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer II in Vancouver, British Columbia

We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer II to join our dynamic team in Vancouver, Canada. As an integral part of our development team, you will be responsible for building and enhancing features for the Microsoft Teams Android product, specifically tailored for frontline workers. Your work will directly contribute to improving communication and collaboration of frontline users in various industries.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications for the Microsoft Teams platform.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.

  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.

  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver a seamless user experience.

  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and contribute to the overall improvement of the development process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience shipping successful products.

  • 1 year of experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, and related development tools.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment .

  • Proficient problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $83,600 - CAD $159,600 per year.
