Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Vancouver, British Columbia

We are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. Our team builds modern events in the Microsoft Teams product, and we are focused on delivering best-in-class event experiences. Events typically have large audiences joining from a wide set of device types (desktop clients, mobile devices, or web) and our goal is to deliver high quality solutions for attendees regardless of how they join, so that individuals and businesses across the world can rely on us to do more and achieve more.

Responsibilities

As a member of our team, you will: 

  • Work closely with product managers and designers to architect, design, implement and release features in alignment with product and area charters and priorities. 

  • Work closely with infra team and partner team for E2E architecture and API design. 

  • Improve Product/Feature quality and reliability 

  • Lead and mentor team members.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of iOS mobile development experience using objective-C, Swift.

  • 4+ years of experience delivering cross-organizational projects requiring collaboration and communication skills. 

  • 4+ years of experience with building end-user experiences. 

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science

  • OR related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of implementing code level patterns that allow large codebases & teams to scale.

  • Experience with software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.

  • Experience with commercial product development with focus on user experiences

  • Experience driving efforts across product groups and business units. 

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $108,100 - CAD $199,700 per year.
