The Foundation team is looking for a dependable Senior Software Engineer to join us in our efforts to build core framework capabilities that power the next dimension of functionality in the Teams app as well as capabilities like Embeddable Controls and Line of Business applications. Applicants should have pride in craftsmanship around building responsive user experiences as well as understand how their designs affect the performance of the overall application.

Responsibilities

  • Solve and address any issues in the Client Framework space to support multiple partner teams.

  • Improve the system architecture to scale with increase in Teams usage and feature set

  • Be customer obsessed. Understanding and anticipating the needs of our customers in a changing business and technology landscape is critical.

  • Product vision and ability to plan and design various features in stages to reach the end goal in an evolutionary way is critical.

  • Be a great engineer. You will be accountable for the design, implementation and delivery of solutions that will directly impact the customer experience. Focus on reliability and performance is essential for every endeavor that is undertaken.

  • Earn the technical respect of the people on your team. The ideal candidate should be capable of working in the code, supporting partner services, and driving deliverable across teams.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of software development experience.

  • 1+ years of experience in Front End development.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience with a track record of shipping successful products.

  • Exceptional problem solving & debugging skills.

  • Software development and testing experience with Front End development technologies.

  • Deep understanding of performant Javascript and/or Typescript.

  • Knowledge of UI frameworks like React, Angular, Knockout.js or Vue.js.

  • Understanding of semantic HTML, CSS and CSS preprocessors.

  • Ability to work with build tools such as webpack, grunt and gulp.

  • Experience in DevOps environments.

  • Any experience with Apollo GraphQL framework is a plus.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $104,000 - CAD $193,200 per year.
