We're looking for a talented Senior Product Designer (Teams) to join us to help define and design compelling experiences that empower frontline customers to achieve more together. You'll have the opportunity to shape the direction of our core experiences for Microsoft Teams, the chat-based collaboration app that is changing how people work together.

We are looking for a well-rounded, experienced Senior Product Designer that can conceptualize the big picture as well as drive detailed design development for collaboration and communications user experiences. You should have a proven record of innovative thinking, a history of using design to drive new ideas and the ability to help others to make the right design decisions.

Candidates will work with other designers and other disciplines to create forward thinking designs that are user scenario-driven and meet business goals. At the core of this job candidates will identify user centered design patterns, establish scenarios, place designs into user context and create interactions that align to those requirements. Candidates should be able to articulate their thinking using a variety of mediums from information diagrams, wireframe flows to detailed prototypes. You will need to show attention to detail and commitment in the work you produce. A solid understanding of graphic/visual design is advantageous. Experience with frontline worker scenarios from any applicable vertical would be a huge plus for this role.

Responsibilities

  • You will drive a large scope of work with a high degree of autonomy and create clarity from ambiguity

  • You will create mocks, wireframes, journey maps, prototypes and other elements to support interaction design. You’ll also participate in product UX improvements by creating interaction models while acting as a liaison between users and products.

  • You will clearly communicate and present your work and learnings to peers and managers within your studio team. You will also communicate user needs to team members and recommend ideas to create a compelling productive narrative. You will storytell to a diverse set of stakeholders on a frequent basis

  • You will work with designpartners like researchers, program managers, and developers to deliver elegant, usable experiences.

  • You will collaborate with Engineering and participate in Experience Reivews to ensure quality while developing the ability to challenge design limitations.

  • You will mentor and help grow other designers from our team, by creating energy and leading by example

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service design

  • OR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design

  • OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design

  • OR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design

  • OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).

  • 4+ years experience shipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process.

Product Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $104,000 - CAD $193,200 per year.
