Microsoft Corporation Product Manager II in Vancouver, British Columbia

The Office Growth Activator Team within the Office Product Group is tasked with building platform and toolchain solutions that propel product-led growth for our suite of productivity software, including AI solutions. We are seeking a Product Manager II, who has a proven history of developing insights and analytics solutions within a tangible software product development environment. The candidate will possess the ability to conceptualize, strategize, and execute insights and analytics solutions for our product offerings. This encompasses everything from comprehending customer usage of our productivity tools, discerning what metrics product leaders should use to gauge success, to collaborating with your feature crew to deliver robust insights and analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Works with executives, product leaders, and fellow product managers, to create a shared understanding of the best approach to measure product success across various dimensions including, usage, retention, health, reliability, user feedback and so on.

  • Proactively anticipate business questions, develop data frames and analytical solutions, build connections across business areas, and identify and act on opportunities to develop existing, enhance , or automate data infrastructure, analyses, and solutions that enable the evaluation of business questions.

  • Develop and manage the product roadmap, prioritizing insights and analytics features based on business impact and user value. Oversee the product lifecycle, from ideation and development to production launch and continuous improvement. Work with software engineers, and data scientists, across the entire product development lifecycle, from envisioning, through specifications, to delivery for insights and analytics features.

  • Interpret data and develop actionable narrative that leads to formulated problems within the business/customer context. Provide guidance on risks and limitations. Foster a culture of experimentation and learning to continuously enhance product offerings.

  • Champion data literacy within the organization and drive the adoption of data-driven decision-making.

  • Ensure compliance with ethical data usage regulations and promote privacy and security best practices.

  • Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation in the insights and analytics space.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service /project/ program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 2+ years’ experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis

  • OR Master’s Degree in mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field OR equivalent experience.

Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $83,600 - CAD $159,600 per year.
