We're looking for a Product Designer 2 to join us to help define and design compelling experiences that empower teams to achieve more together. You'll have the opportunity to shape the direction of Admin experiences for Microsoft Teams that has huge impact on security of our customers, and the app deployment and management of Teams. We're looking for a Product Designer 2 that can conceptualize the big picture as well as drive detailed design development for collaboration and communications, security and apps management experiences. You have a proven record of innovative thinking, a history of using design to drive new ideas and the ability to help others to make the right design decisions.
In this role, you will work with other designers and product managers to create forward thinking designs that are user scenario driven and meet business goals. You will identify user centered design patterns, establish scenarios, place designs into user context and create interactions that align to those requirements.

Responsibilities
Estimate individual schedule (e.g., time requirements) for work delivery. Define needs of product designs based on multiple factors such as user insights and business needs. Support team in developing a synthesis of user insights and compare with data to identify larger issues that may not be apparent for user desires.
Generate ideation solutions to improve product designs. Utilize a variety of perspectives when ideating (e.g., business, experience, technology). Synthesize ideation solutions into a concise articulation of user wants and subsequent solutions. Facilitate team engagement for an ideation exercise as part of a design sprint.
Prototype for new products. Strive to make design look and feel like the real product. Help present to teams (e.g., Design and Engineering) and/or customers to receive feedback and understand user needs. Use digital and physical tools to demonstrate design to stakeholders and then gauge customer perceptions. Prototype in accordance with company's brand and guidelines. Advocate for best in class tools.
Collaborate with and answer questions from Engineering to aid in successful, high-qualitydesign implementation, and perform QAs to help ensure "pixel perfect" or detailed designs. Work with developers to iterate further on designs during implementation to ensure optimal designs.
Contribute to visual designs from concept to delivery. Facilitate the creative visual design process by producing the visual language for a product. Create a variety of visual design documents including mood boards, storyboards, creative briefs, 3D models, product renderings/visualizations, color and materials design, motion studies, iconography, illustrations, layouts, and redlines for an assigned product, tool, or service.
Create wireframes, journey maps, user jobs and scenarios, task flows, and personas in support of interaction designs for hardware and/or software-based experiences under the direction of a senior team member. Conceptualize and deliver artifacts at various levels of fidelity. Participate in the development and enhancement of product user experience via creation of interaction models and detailed designs for new and existing product features. Assist others to help ensure that the designs of the products allow the user to complete the desired functions in the best possible manner.
Use a prescribed design system (e.g., content templates, icons, form design, UI controls, navigation models, design trends). Share learnings and collaborate with other designers to share education for team improvements.
Convey work to peers and managers within immediate team so that the audience understands. Set context for stakeholders. Communicate in a professional and timely fashion.
Work with other team members to create a compelling narrative for a specific product or feature and the customer. Explore new and interesting ways of telling stories (e.g., video illustrations, sound).
Assist with fundamental tasks on projects with creative team members, program managers, and developers (e.g., the triad/quad) to define and iterate on new and existing product features. Participates on one study at a time and collaborate, create, and help the team deliver product design results.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service design
OR equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 2+ years related work experience working in product or service design
OR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 1+ year(s) relevant internship/work experience working in product or service design
OR equivalent experience (e.g., experience using design thinking to solve problems).
Able to articulate your thinking using a variety of mediums from information diagrams, wireframe flows to detailed prototypes.
Attention to detail and passion in the work you produce.
Solid understanding of graphic/visual design.
Experience collaborating with other disciplines including engineering and product management.
Ability to drive design development for collaboration and communications, security and apps management experiences.
Experience in the security domain.
Experience creating a variety of visual design documents including: mood boards, storyboards, creative briefs, product renderings/visualizations, color and materials design, iconography, illustrations, layouts, and redlines for an assigned product, tool, or service.
Product Design IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $83,600 - CAD $159,600 per year.
