Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. ​​Within Azure Data, the messaging and real-time analytics team provides comprehensive solutions and a robust platform that enables users to ingest high granularity signals (real-time & observability) and complex data, converting those into a competitive advantage in real-time for both end users and modern applications.  ​

​​To help us with our evolution, we are looking for a Principal Product Manager to join our Azure Messaging team. As a Principal Product Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of our product strategy for Azure Messaging. You will analyze the market and drive service strategy to shape the future of Azure Messaging services centered largely around the management and handling of message data formats. To make your strategy a reality, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, develop product roadmaps, and drive product development from ideation to launch. In addition you will participate with open source communities, create demos, author blogs, present at conferences and meet with customers.

Responsibilities

  • ​​Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs and market trends

  • Define product requirements and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams

  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and other teams to ensure successful product development

  • Monitor and analyze product performance and make data-driven decisions to improve product success

  • Create go-to-market content from blogs to videos as needed​ ​

  • Participate in open source communities related to open source message data formats

Qualifications

Required /Minimum Qualifications

  • ​​Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience​

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • ​​Preferred demonstrated experience with messaging service products that deal with queues and/or streaming​

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software developmento OR equivalent experience.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $135,800 - CAD $253,000 per year.
