Summary

As a member of the Entreprise Data Platforms team, reporting to the Site Reliability Engineer Senior Manager , the Site Reliability Engineer be responsible for supporting and monitoring our systems. They will also be required to provide technical assistance to our CRE team for any Incidents and more. The Site Reliability Engineer will work with several teams such as our CRE team, infrastructure team, NAaS teams, service teams, etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor production systems, identify issues, and respond promptly to incidents.

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks, outages, and other system anomalies.

  • Implement effective alerting and escalation procedures.

  • Participate in a 7/24 on-call support rotation and keep management, key stakeholders informed of critical issues.

  • Participate in postmortems and provide solution to avoid re-occurrence.

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Kubernetes.

  • Automate deployment, scaling, and configuration management processes.

  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth releases.

  • Analyze system performance metrics and plan for capacity growth.

  • Work closely with security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards.

  • Implement security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management.

  • Participate in security audits and assessments.

  • Document processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Critical Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge of MicroStrategy products.

  • Strong experience with Linux/Unix systems administration.

  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, Go, Bash.

  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills with strong interpersonal abilities.

  • 5+ years of operational support experience with good knowledge of ITIL, Agile, and SRE principles.

  • Ability to identify complex issues, provide detailed descriptions/solutions under pressure with attention to detail.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to explain technical challenges to diverse audiences.

  • Capacity to organize work efficiently and prioritize tasks in a timely manner.

  • Familiarity with Git, Kubernetes, and containerization (Docker).

  • Working experience with major cloud hyperscalers: Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure.

  • Understanding of networking concepts including load balancing and firewalls; experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Quickly adapts to new technologies.

  • Proactively plans work tasks.

  • Works independently and identifies project obstacles, mobilizing resources to achieve objectives.

  • Bilingual in both written and spoken English and French.

  • Familiar with the Bell Canada organization.
