TRAVELERS Canada is hiring for an Administrative Assistant reporting to the Underwriting Manager this person will be working with our New Home Warranty group in Vancouver and Calgary. This specific role will involve administering the issuance of warranty commencement date certificates and warranty certificates, along with handling all incoming inquiries from clients and policyholders. The individual must be familiar with other related Warranty functions (underwriting, housing registrations and file storage) and be able to provide assistance (in a support capacity) from time to time. He or she will also be responsible for the day-to-day activities associated with our new portal TRU Builder.

  • Prepare and issue Commencement Date Certificates to builders and Home Warranty Coverage Certificates to owners

  • Record applicable home warranty registration and commencement date information into the system

  • Maintain quality control over production of all relevant documents and certificates

  • Develop a sound knowledge of all home registration procedures, including established underwriting guidelines, technical requirements, and premium/fee collection

  • Process applications for new homes and building envelope renovation registrations

  • Ensure each new home application meets the applicable technical requirements

  • Process warranty premiums and fees payable to Travelers Canada and manage the Housing Registration Forms with the BC Housing.

  • Prepare documentation (i.e. letters, memoranda, forms, etc.) in a professional manner

  • Assist with any TRU Builder portal inquiries. This includes inviting clients to the platform, password resets and corresponding with them via email/phone.

  • Responsible for maintaining up-to-date and orderly file system

  • A minimum of 24 months experience in office administration

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Tech savvy- strong computer skills, especially in MS Word, Excel, and data entry applications

  • Client facing skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Positive and professional telephone manner

  • Capacity for functioning well in a team environment with initiative

  • Must be self-motivated to meet daily expectations with minimum supervision

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task effectively

  • Willing to put forth additional effort and take on extra responsibilities with enthusiasm
