The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
The person hired for this opportunity will be responsible for the management and optimization of supplier management activities for the plant and will drive quality improvements for our outsourcing locations.
As a Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Managing and initiating supplier risk assessment – working with division to determine risks, risk mitigation plans, and continual monitoring of critical plant suppliers
Managing Measurement of Supplier Performance – conducting regular reviews of supplier quality and relationship performance, create supplier metrics/KPIs.
Supplier Quality Continual Improvement – managing supplier impact on 3M and associated performance (lean flow, quality impact, & cost).
Performing Supplier Audits and Managing Supplier Nonconformance - addressing technical problems with suppliers, creating and managing effective supplier feedback and complaint process to driving continuous improvement.
Improving Outsourced Material Quality – managing specifications and compliance by outsource vendors to provide safe, consistent, predictable products for our customers.
Other duties as assigned.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
Two (2) years of combined quality and/or manufacturing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution
Minimum of three (3) years combined quality and/or manufacturing experience
Minimum of one (1) year of supplier management experience
Experience deploying industry specific quality system requirements beyond ISO9001 (e.g. NIOSH, CSA, ANSI etc.)
Working knowledge of IT solutions for Quality (CFR, eMatrix, QDS, ISM, SAP, etc.)
Experience leading internal and external audit or certified internal auditor ISO9001
ASQ certification
Excellent attention to detail and process/system oriented
Self-motivated with proven ability to apply innovative solutions to problems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with TQRDC Assessments
Effective in conducting root cause analysis
Lean Six Sigma experience, leading Green Belt or Black Belt projects
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Location: Valley, NE
Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/international
Relocation: May be authorized

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $119,076 - $145,537, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
