Job Description: The Department of Health, Human Performance, & Physical Education is seeking an energetic and engaging Adjunct Faculty member to teach First Aid/CPR/AED, Stop the Bleed, and Naloxone training to students. The incumbent will provide classroom instruction in basic life support training and responding to emergenices, to prepare students to become certified in Heartsaver First Aid and BLS through the American Heart Association (AHA). Requirements: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a Master's Degree in a health sciences field from a recognized college or university with one year of practical experience in that field. The candidate must also be certified as a First Aid/CPR/AED instructor through the AHA. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required; the ability to establish a rapport with students and maintain an environment that supports learning and promotes student retention, is required. All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A background as a healthcare provider such as EMT, paramedic, RN, PA, NP, MD, DO, DC is preferred. It is also strongly preferred that the candidate possess at least one year of teaching experience, Brightspace experience, 5+ years actively working in the field, and certifications in Stop the Bleed and Naloxone. HOURLY RATE OF PAY: The hourly rate of pay is $93.84. No benefits.
