Position Summary Information
Position Summary
This position helps participating YSLPP students meet the goals of the program, acts as a liaison between the Program, school, home, and community; and works closely with students who experience behavioral, emotional, or learning problems in the school setting. This is an 11 month position from September 1st – July 31st.

Major Responsibilities
Provides casework services to each student as needed
Helps parents/guardians understand the Program, assists them with their issues and/or refers them to community resources
Explores the home and neighborhood environment of the child and reports findings to YSLPP and school personnel
Implements a parent involvement program in coordination with YSLPP leadership to meet the needs of each cohort
Works closely with school district personnel to meet the needs of individual students
Participates with other school/program personnel in case conferences for the total evaluation of the child
Serves as consultant to the director, site supervisors and other pupil personnel workers concerning problems of adjustment of individual pupils
Serves as a mandated reporter
Responsible for working with supervisor and other team members to achieve successful results on all established individual and departmental goals and key performance indicators
Takes an active role in the development of the department’s strategic and operational plans as required by department leadership. Works closely with department supervisor to develop and implement operational goals that support departmental success.
Participate and engage in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) initiatives and programs, including but not limited to serving on DEI committees, serving as a diversity advocate or community liaison for a job search, advising a club, facilitating DEI-related training, and engagement in institutional cultural and celebratory events and programming.
May perform other related duties as assigned.

This position may occasionally involve regional travel using a University-owned or University-rented vehicle.

Education & Experience Qualifications
M.S.W. or M.S. Required
Experience with at-risk youth in a school setting preferred
Minimum Skills/Abilities
Flexibility
Strong Clinical Skills and experience with groups
Relates well to people of all backgrounds – works with students, parents, school personnel
Enjoys working with adolescents
Ability to advocate for students
Preferred: Possession of a valid U.S. driver’s license that will meet insurance company rules and regulations for driving underwriting criteria.
Must be able to work flexible hours if necessary.
