Position Summary

The Department of English at Utica University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of English Language or Assistant Professor of Linguistics

Location Utica, NY

Major Responsibilities

We are looking for candidates with (1) demonstrated excellence in teaching introductory and general education courses in linguistics, as well as upper-division courses in core subfields such as modern English grammar and history of the English language, and (2) expertise in teaching TESOL courses for future and current educators, as well as introductory writing courses and second-language writing. Preference will be given to candidates whose research specializations are in fields such as second-language acquisition, linguistic justice, or computational or applied linguistics. Candidates with additional interest in multi-modal communication, artificial intelligence, or computing are encouraged to apply,
